Write about a time when you experienced \”culture shock.\” Looking back on it now, how can you understand your experience from a sociological perspective?
Remember, culture is not only something that is \”overseas.\” I just returned from a multistate tour of the east coast and there are plenty of cultural differences between CA and those states.
Grading is based on your understanding of the material from the course. How well do you incorporate terms and concepts from the text in your description of your experience? Do you relate specific events to ideas regarding culture? Does your answer demonstrate an ability to apply sociological terms? If you simply tell me about a misunderstanding between you and your roommate from San Francisco, without relating it to any course material, you will not do well on this assignment. The grade is not on your experience, but rather on your sociological interpretation of the experience.
Respond to at least one classmate for full credit for this assignment.
